The Night of the Living Lebowski is upon us! Join us for the 5th annual wild celebration of this classic flick. We'll be showing it on the Big Screens while you sip your White Russian and wear your best Lebowski costume! Prizes all night for best costumes, trivia and red pin bowling. 

The Little Lebowski Urban Achievers will be performing soundtrack tunes on the stage, and looking fine while they do it. For you Terrapin Beer lovers, they will be unveiling The Big RyeBrewski, a beer made just for this event! Keg will be tapped at 7:30pm.

An afternoon not to be missed with over 25 restaurants, 8 wineries, package stores and brewery, a silent auction and raffle, live music, wine pairings, cooking demonstrations and one opera singing chef, all in the lush Ashford Manor gardens in Watkinsville, GA. All proceeds benefit the Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation, a community art center dedicated to supporting arts in the Northeast Georgia area.

Tuesday through Friday several joints open the Mic and give budding vocalist a shot.Singing or not it's worth getting out and experiencing this oddity of human behavior.

The party is a chance for people who have never been to the Space to visit. For all of our long-time supporters and volunteers, it's also a chance for us to say thank-you. The success of Nuçi’s Space has been a community effort and we want the same community to be able to celebrate the great things you've helped us accomplish.

We'll have food (donated from local restaurants), refreshments, cake, live music plus a silent auction of signed rock memorabilia!

"When a freshman at the University of New Hampshire arrived on campus he proudly displayed an American Flag from his dorm room window. Conner MacIver sees a symbol of freedom, respect for our service men and women. University officials see a broken policy and fear a slippery slope. The school asked MacIver to take the flag down and adhere to a long-standing rule that prohibits objects from being suspended from dorm windows. MacIver complied but, he's not being quiet about it. He is taking his plight to University officials, fighting to put his flag back up."

"If my supply of these bags is cut off, then I will be buying plastic garbage bags and putting those in the landfill instead. I recycle the bags that I don't use by taking them to the receptacles at Publix.

Or maybe I'll shop at the Kroger or Publix in Oconee County. Let's not forget that this is yet another regulation that may drive even more business out of Clarke County."

A bit from the ABH article "Doug Lowry and Kelly Girtz, two Athens-Clarke commissioners who co-chair a task force on recycling, recommended charging shoppers who choose to use plastic 10 cents per bag at a commission work session Tuesday. Three cents would go to the retailer and 7 cents to the county government." THEN "The goal is to get away from disposable bags and move toward reusable bags," Girtz said."

PHEW! For a moment there I tought it was a quick way to line the county coffers. Good thing the real "goal" is eliminating disposiable bags. I feel safer already.
